Palawan Island Philippines is the largest island. The island is half desert, so still undeveloped. You can enjoy the jungle, mountains, and white beaches. Palawan Island has been rated by National Geographic Traveler magazine as best Southeast Asia region in 2007, and the 13th best island in the world! Isthe most biodiverse islands in the Philippines. Palawan is an archipelago with 1,780 islands on the western part. Due to amazing landscapes and high bio-diversity, Palawan island is known as “The Last Ecological Frontier of the Philippines”. The northern part is characterized by incredible clear waters, white beaches, and many species of flora and fauna. Here at north there avre most visited places like El Nido and Taytay, characterized by limestone cliffs and underwater with many species of tropical fish and coral, also are present five species of endangered sea turtles. Jungle have about 100 different species of birds! So…this is a real amazing tropical destination to relax and enjoy yourself.
5. El nido
El nido Palawan Philippines has some of the most beautiful scenery we have ever encountered. This cluster of islands is off the tip of the Palawan Island is full of dramatic rock formations and surrounded by bright blue waters. There are a ton of things to do in El Nido so give yourself a week in El Nido if you you can.
4. San Vicente
A first-class municipality located on the northwestern side of the main island of the province of Palawan, is home to the longest white sand beach in the Philippines, roughly three times the length of Boracay’s famed White Beach.
San Vicente’s 14.7-kilometer beachfront, popularly called Long Beach, is being converted into an emerging tourist destination. It has two rocky cliffs interrupting the coastline and dividing the area into three distinct coves.
Long Beach spans the coastline of four barangays — Poblacion, New Agutaya, San Isidro and Alimanguan — and has still few commercial developments.
3. Coron
Coron Island is a wedge-shaped limestone island in the province of Palawan. It has seven lakes, famous of which is the nationally-acclaimed cleanest lake in the Philippines, the Kayangan Lake. It also has a number of islands with white beaches and clear blue waters perfect for snorkeling, deepsea fishing and shipwreck diving. Some coastal areas are covered with mangrove forests.
Coron is the largest town on the island. The municipality covers part of Busuanga Island and all of the nearby Coron Island. Both islands are part of the Calamian Group of Islands in northern Palawan.
The area is famous for its World War II wreck diving, and the site has been named in many lists of top dive spots in the world. In September 1944, a fleet of Japanese ships hiding in the harbor were sunk in a daring raid by the US navy. The result is around ten well preserved underwater shipwrecks surrounded with coral reef.
2. Tabon Cave
Another place to go for off-the-beaten-path adventures is Tabon Caves in Quezon town of South Palawan. This important archaeological site is where the Tabon Man was found. Filipinos who have been attentive in history class may remember that the fossilized remains of the Tabon Man was believed to be the earliest human remains known in the Philippines (until the discovery of the Callao Man in Peñablanca, cagayan province) For travelers, the Tabon Cave Complex is a great place to explore cave formations and learn about the archaeology diggings.
1. Puerto Princesa
You can’t blame me why i chose puerto princesa to be my number one on my list because it’s such a great destination and this is my dream Island.
Puerto princesa is the capital and major flight gateway in Palawan, especially popular among El Nido-bound tourists. Stay for a few days to explore beautiful spots around the city. Start with a trip to Puerto princesa Underground River, the 2nd longest navigable underground river in the world, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and New7Wonders of Nature. Then, spend a day beach bumming and snorkeling on an island hopping tour around Honda Bay. Don’t leave without exploring sights in the city center and feasting on fresh seafood in many beachside restaurants.
