1. Ruins

The Ruins is always the first in the list of places to visit in Bacolod. It has a glorious and colorful past that can still be seen up to the present. It also visited because of the story behind the mysterious structure. I visited this place when I was still in Bacolod and if you don’t have any interest in this kind of place , The Ruins will never get your attention no matter how beautiful it is.

The Ruins is one of the most photographed Bacolod tourist spots and for a good reason. This architectural masterpiece is a sight to behold. While the mansion may have been stripped down of its walls after being destroyed by World War II, there’s enough structural frame left as a testament to its former beauty.

What makes it even more enthralling is the story behind it. Known as the “Taj Mahal of Negros”, the mansion was built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in memory of his lost love, Maria Braga. Today, what survives of the structure has been turned into a high-class Ilonggo-Spanish restaurant.
